Let me define what health is by explaining what health is not.
Health is NOT the absence of dis-ease symptoms. A person cannot and should not be considered “healthy” simply because they do not have a medical diagnosis for some kind of chronic degenerative condition like Cancer or Multiple Sclerosis or Rheumatoid Arthritis or Asthma or Allergies or Lupus or Migraines or Constipation or Colitis or Crohn’s Disease or Heart Disease or Diabetes or Obesity or Alzheimer’s or Bipolar Disorders or Parkinson’s Disease.
Health must be defined by the active presence and daily experience of the symptoms of health! Vitality, Flexibility, Stamina, Endurance, Good Sleep, Good Mood, Good Skin, Good Energy, Regular Bowel Movements, Creativity, Resourcefulness, Good Memory; to name only a few.
In other words, someone who is healthy is not tired all the time, not fatigued, not stressed out, not worried, not anxious, not suffering from headaches or backaches or muscle aches, not suffering from indigestion and sleepless nights, not suffering from blood sugar issues or blood pressure issues or cholesterol issues or weight issues.
In other words, someone who is healthy is actually FREE of any dis-ease in their body and in their mind! (dis-ease means the lack of ease nothing more and nothing less)
The Covid-19 pandemic has revealed many significant flaws in our “health care system” but the biggest of flaws is this: We don’t have a health care system! We have a disease care system. We don’t teach people how to be healthy. We teach people how to become dependent on pharmaceuticals.
And this is one of the biggest reasons why the Coronavirus is having such a devastating impact on so many people. Healthy people have healthy immune systems and healthy, normally functioning immune systems can protect and defend us against any pathological virus or bacteria, including the coronavirus.
If we had a true health care system in the United States we would be told constantly by our various health and medical “experts” what foods to consume to strengthen our immune systems and what foods to avoid that weaken our immune systems.
Let’s work together to demand a true health care system that works for everyone!
These ideas are explained in greater detail in the first few chapters of my book: Principle Eating: The No Diet Way to Complete Health.
